i think thats kinnda harsh. don't know?
i mean think about it you try doing what all they have
for 22 years and going. try to stay strong through 
death, band members leaving, lots of drinking drugs,
then marriage, kid's try it tell me if shit dont
change . most bands Dont Even go this long, change
should be welcomed every so often Don't ya think .i
think metallica has come a long fucking way man. this
is about the only album they have all been happy with,
they recoded it out of joy, not James stopping to
fucking yell at someone for fucking up. if there happy
with it why cant you be? if you were a fan at any time
at all you should be able to grow and mature with
there music. and as for kirks solos he even stated
himself in the august 2003 issue of "guitar" mag he
said on page 74. 
"well there is one, a one note solo in "unnamed
feeling" but thats it. we tried to put solos on about
3 or 4 tracks, but the songs totally overshadowed
them.the leads sounded like afterglows, so we scrapped
them , which was a very, very easy thing for me to do.
hell i think people know i can play solos, and i
certainly did not feel the need to prove myself
again." 
so there ya go man it was just not going to work. but
if it was the media you heard say that it sounded
anything like the old shit. well thats your first
problem. NEVER listen to them what the hell do they
know? come on ask your self how many of them have ever
really heard or understood old school metallica? not
many I'm sure. but the point of this letter was not to
get you pissed but to make you stop and think. how
many times were they there for you? i can think of
countless time is was so fucking pissed i could of
killed someone. but to set down and scream, yell
thrash or even cry to a damn good metallica song , and
it was gone. so think if you defended them this long.
then they still need you to do it some more. lots of
people gave up on them around load and reload. but ppl
like you and me held on cuz we knew they had it in
them. there still the same crazy fuckers they were 22
years ago . they have just grown up alot. so think
about it and if you want to e-mail me back and tell me
more about how disgusted are with them. I'm more than
glad to listen. but you can bet your sweet ass i'll do
anything to get you back on our side. just think you
were like me too. whenever that might have been.

I don't know if I'd blame the horrendous quality of St. Anger on Jason's departure, but it
would seem a cogent explanation. I think it was just a coincidence, though I also can't see
Jason going along with songs that are that bad. Then again I wouldn't have believed the 
other members would go along with songs that bad either.

have to remain impartial. The MMR DJs usually take my rants with good
humor and tend to agree with me. Too bad Christian's not around anymore,
